Regularly performed surgeries include laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy, appendicectomy (open and laparoscopic), inguinal and ventral hernia repairs (including TAPP and IPOM Plus techniques), hydrocele surgery, orchidopexy, varicose vein surgery, hemorrhoidectomy, fistulectomy, fissure surgery, breast lump excisions, modified radical mastectomy, thyroid surgeries (hemithyroidectomy and total thyroidectomy), emergency laparotomies for perforation and obstruction, bowel resections and anastomosis, stoma creation and closure, trauma-related injury repairs, abscess drainage, and soft tissue procedures.
The department has also strengthened its advanced capabilities with the introduction of choledochoscopy-assisted procedures, negative pressure wound therapy applications, and vessel-sealing technology for both open and minimally invasive operations. The steady increase in minimally invasive procedures reflects the department’s transition toward modern, patient-centric surgical practice with reduced postoperative morbidity and shorter hospital stays.
