About the Programme
The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at Deben Mahata Government Medical College & Hospital, Purulia is delivered in accordance with the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The curriculum integrates basic medical sciences, early clinical exposure, clinical medicine, professionalism, ethics, communication skills, community-based education, and research, ensuring a holistic learning experience.
Students develop the knowledge, clinical competencies, professional values, and leadership qualities required to provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centred, and compassionate healthcare while addressing the evolving health needs of society.

- Candidate must complete the age of 17 Years on or before 31st December, of the Year of admission to the MBBS course.
- H.S.C / (10+2) or equivalent qualification with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany & Zoology with minimum marks as per MCI norms.
- Eligible NEET (UG) score as prescribed by MCI.
